1967 Camaro Restoration Project

Moving on to another part of the project,, the steering column. The old car had a column shift and the new car will have a floor shift so I need to take apart both columns and make one column from two. The floor shift column had bad bearings so I used the ones from the column shift along with the center tube.
Now that both columns are torn down, I can pick the best pieces from each column to rebuild one good column with the floor shift column shroud and center tube. I would really like to use the blue steering wheel but when looking closer at it, it is in very bad shape so I'm going to use the better black wheel and put a blue cover on it to match the interior color.
The parts I need are selected and are ready for a trip to bead blasting and paint.
Hey,, what's my automatic parts washer doing up here at the body shop?? Bead blasting steering coulmn and engine parts!!
I always wanted one and lately I've really needed one doing this restore and now I've finally got my own media blast cabinet. Thank you Denise, Glen and Joe for doing the leg work and setting it up for me and a special THANKS to my buddy Dave for changing his day plans and road tripping with me to the Carlisle Pa. swap meet to pick it up and also being my G.P.S. since I've never been there. Glen,, you set it up perfect. I heard you yell when we pulled up to the stop sign and I knew right then things were going to work out perfect. Thanks again for the team effort. Now my automatic media blaster can do her work at my house. Ha Ha Ha Ha,,, HEY.... you done yet. LOLMAO.
Spring Carlisle 2011. Picking up parts and my new blast cabinet.
Joe's day scooter. Next trip up there we'll try to get you one with some flames, a big block, and a Holly carb.
The blast master hard at work with my new cabinet.
A almost never ending process of painting all the small parts before putting them back together.
You should have seen all these parts before they went through the blast cabinet. You would not think these were the same parts.
The other half of the heater box.
The engine is done so I made the road trip to Mt. Airy to pick it up. Thanks Mark.
The engine still needs painted and all the accessories mounted to it before it goes back in the car.
My garage looks like a Camaro threw up all over the place.
