The Kitchen Re-Hab

I just could'nt let all these nice, big boxes go to waste. My two daughters had a blast making and playing in their new castle on the back pourch. Shows what a little imagination and a roll of tape can get you.

As I mentioned before, I found a lot of old bottles and things under the floor. Most were buried in the dirt but we sifted through the trash and pulled the good ones out and saved them. Notice the matching hurricane lamp covers on the left that we found intact. That in itself was a nice find.

This is the oldest bottle bottle that we found. The date was cast into the bottle itself and had a patent date of November 30th 1858.

This door had been locked shut since we moved in. In addition to stripping the paint and sandblasting the hardware, we moved the door to the inside of the doorway so we could put in a storm door. The door hardware on the face of the door had a date on it of 1895. It is a holder of some sort for a basket or a pot of flowers. It was a much welcome addition to the kitchen and will be very nice in the summertime.
